Madhuri Shankar Dixit was born in 15 May 1967 bombay, Indian.His nickname Bubbly.His hight 5' 4" (1.63 m).She is Bollywood actress. Throughout the late 1980s and 1990s, she established herself as one of Hindi cinema's leading actresses and accomplished dancers. She appeared in numerous commercial successes and was recognised for several performances as well as dance numbers in various films. Dixit is often cited by the media as one of the most prominent female actresses in Bollywood. In 2008, she was awarded the Padma Shri, India's fourth-highest civilian award by the Government of India.

Early life

Madhuri Dixit is a native of Mumbai, India. She was born Madhuri Shankar Dixit to Shankar and Snehlata Dixit, of a Marathi Chitpavan Brahmin family. Dixit attended Divine Child High School and Mumbai University and wanted to be a microbiologist. She is an accomplished Kathak dancer and trained for eight years.

Film career

Madhuri Dixit made her acting debut in Abodh in 1984. After a few minor and supporting roles in movies like Dayvaan and Vardi, she landed the lead female role in Tezaab (1988), which shot her to stardom, and for which she received her first Filmfare nomination. She then starred in a number of hits that included Ram Lakhan (1989), Parinda (1989), Tridev (1989), and Kishen Kanhaiya (1990).

In 1990, Dixit starred in Indra Kumar's romantic-drama Dil, alongside Aamir Khan. She played the role of Madhu Mehra, a rich and arrogant young girl who falls in love with Raja, played by Khan, and later leaves her house in order to marry him. The film became one of the biggest box-office hits of the year in India, and Dixit's performance earned her the first Filmfare Best Actress Award of her

career.

She followed Dil with another line of hits, including Saajan (1991), Beta (1992), Khalnayak (1993), Hum Aapke Hain Kaun! (1994), and Raja (1995). Dixit's performance in Beta, that of a woman married to an illiterate, well-meaning man who exposes her scheming mother-in-law, won her a second Filmfare Award for Best Actress.

Hum Aapke Hain Kaun! became one of the biggest grossers ever in the history of Hindi cinema. It went on to collect over Rs. 650 million in India and over Rs. 150 million overseas, and won Dixit her third Filmfare Best Actress Award. In that same year, Dixit was also nominated in the same category for her performance in Anjaam, which won her critical acclaim.

After an unsuccessful year in 1996, Dixit appeared as Pooja in Yash Chopra's Dil To Pagal Hai (1997). The film was a major national success, both critically and commercially, and Dixit won her fourth Filmfare Best Actress Award.[9] In that same year, Dixit starred in Prakash Jha's critically acclaimed Mrityudand. The film was known for straddling the boundary between a commercial and an art film. It won the Best Feature Film award at the Cinéma Tout Ecran in Geneva and the Bangkok Film Festival. Dixit's performance in the film landed her the Best Actress award at the annual Star Screen Awards.

Dixit is not only known for her acting skills, but for her dancing skills as well. Her dance sequences, accompanying famous Bollywood songs such as Ek Do Teen (from Tezaab), Humko Aaj Kal Hai (from Sailaab), Bada Dukh Deenha (from Ram Lakhan), Dhak Dhak (from Beta), Chane Ke Khet Mein (from Anjaam), Didi Tera Devar Deewana (from Hum Aapke Hain Kaun!), Choli Ke Peechhe (from Khalnayak), Akhiyan Milaun (from Raja), Mera Piya Ghar Aaya (from Yaarana), Kay Sera Sera (from Pukar), Maar Daala (from Devdas), among others, have received abundant critical acclaim.

In 2002, she starred in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Devdas with Shahrukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai. Her performance was applauded and earned her a Filmfare Best Supporting Actress Award. The film attracted worldwide attention and was featured at the Cannes Film Festival.

The following year a film named after her, Main Madhuri Dixit Banna Chahti Hoon!, was released in which a woman (played by Antara Mali) aspires to become the new Madhuri Dixit by trying her luck in the Bollywood industry.

On 25 February 2006 she performed on stage for the first time in six years at the Filmfare Awards to music from her last movie Devdas. Her performance was choreographed by Saroj Khan.

Madhuri Dixit has been the muse for the famous Indian painter M.F. Husain who considers her the epitome of womanhood. Hence he made a film named Gaja Gamini (2000) in which Madhuri acted. The film was intended as a tribute to Ms. Dixit herself.[20] In this film she can be seen portraying various forms and manifestations of womanhood including the muse of Kalidasa, Leonardo's Mona Lisa, a rebel, and an incarnation of musical euphoria.

On 7 December 2006, Dixit returned to Mumbai along with her husband and sons to start filming for Aaja Nachle (2007). The film released in November 2007 and despite the critics panning it, Dixit's performance was highly appreciated, with the New York Times commenting about her that "she's still got it".

On Women's International Day in 2007, Dixit topped Rediff's list of the Best Bollywood Actresses Ever. In May 2008,she was given a tribute by Indian Film Festival at Los Angeles. In March 2010, The Economic Times has named Madhuri Dixit in the list of the "33 women who made India proud".

Personal life

In 1999, Madhuri Dixit married Shriram Madhav Nene, a UCLA-trained cardiovascular surgeon who practices in Denver. Dr. Nene is also from a M arathi Konkanastha Brahmin family. She has two sons, Arin (born on 18 March 2003 in Colorado) and Raayan (born on 8 March 2005 in Colorado).She has two elder sisters, Rupa and Bharati, and an elder brother, Ajit. Madhuri and her family reside in Denver, Colorado,USA.

Bipasha Basu

Bipasha basu7 January 1979 is an Indian actress who appears in Bollywood films and a former model. She was the winner of the Ford's Godrej Cinthol Supermodel contest for 1996 and is currently one of the mainstream actresses in Bollywood.

Early life

Basu was born in New Delhi to a bengali Hindu family. She is the second of three daughters to her parents, the elder being Bidisha, and the younger—Vijayeta. Although she was born in New Delhi, her family later moved to Kolkata.

According to her, she had come into modeling and acting quite by accident, because initially she had planned to study medicine. Basu studied science till the 12th standard at Bhavans gangabux kanoria vidyamandir and then studied commerce at The Bhawanipur Gujarati Education Society College, an undergraduate college affiliated with the University of calcutta . In Kolkata, she did modelling and rampshows partime. Although, as pointed above, she intended to become a doctor, her aversion for dissections made her opt for accountancy . However, in 1996, she met well-known model Mehr jessia in Kolkata; the latter suggested that Basu take part in the Godrej Cinthol Supermodel contest. She eventually participated, and won the contest.

Career

After winning the Ford Godrej Cinthol contest, Basu also was flown to New York by the Ford Company, where she had a successful modelling career at the age of 17.

Basu made her film debut in Abbas mustans ainabee , with Akshay kumar,Bobby deoland .karena kapoor She played a married woman who goes all out to woo her husband’s married friend, and eventually won the Filmfare Best female Debut Award for her performance.

In 2002, Basu starred in Telugu movie Takkari Donga opposite Tollywood superstar Mahesh babu Vikram Bhatts thriller Razz.Razz was a big commercial success and surfaced as the biggest hit of that year. For her performance in the film, she received her first Best Actress nomination at theFilmfare. One review in The Tribune noted, "...it is Bipasha Basu who steals the show with her fine performance." In 2006, Basu claimed to have been harassed by certain organizers of the India Day Parade in Edison,New Jersey . Basu was initially scheduled to lead the parade on 13 August 2006. Basu eventually appeared on stage late, according to her, because of the harassment. She said, "I wanted to attend the parade, but I could not." She explained that she was harassed physically and mentally in the car by two people who were taking her to the parade.

She followed it with a leading role in Yash chopras thriller Darr,which went on to become the third top-grossing film of the year in India. Personal life

Juhi Chawla is married to industrialist jai Mehta , the couple have two children; a daughter born in 2001 and a son born in 2003. Her mother died in a car accident in prague during the shooting of the movie Duplicate 1998.

Jai Mehta and Juhi Chawla are the co-owners of the Indian premier league team Kolkata Knight Riders in partnership with sharukh khan under their company Red chillies entertainment.

Bhoomika Chawla

Bhoomika chawla was born in 21 August 1978,Delhi,India.His birth name Rachna chawla.His Height 5' 3" (1.60 m) tall, Bhoomika Chawla was born on August 21 in New Delhi. Her father was a military officer who was posted in various places across the country, so she saw much of India. Her elder brother is also a military officer. Bhoomika finished her schooling in Delhi and moved to Mumbai in 1997 for work on her career starting in ads and music videos. Her campaign for Ponds talcum powder became popular and inevitably, film offers followed. She got an offer from the Telugu film industry and though "Yuvakudu" (2000) was her first movie, she became popular with mega hit "Khushi" (Telugu). She won the "Best Actress Award" for the film Kushi.

The Punjabi-speaking Chawla family welcomed their youngest and latest arrival, Rachna, on August 21st 1978 in Delhi, India. They would call her by the nickname of Guddiya. Her dad is an officer in the Indian Army, her mom's name is Bali. Her brother, too, is in the Indian Army. She has an elder sister.

Aftre completing her schooling in Delhi, Rachna, began her career with Hindi music videos albums, appeared in 'Ponds Talcum Powder' advertisements amongst others, and then went on to star in 'Yuvakudu' in Telegu opposite Sumanth in the year 2000. This is how Rachna became Bhoomika. Her second release 'Khushi' in Telegu bagged her the best actress award. Since then she has acted in about 25 Hindi, Telegu, and Tamil movies. Following which, she acted in the Hindi film Gandhi, My Father as Gulab Gandhi and enacted the title roles in the Telugu films Sathyabhama, in which she played a girl that suffers from Short Term Memory Loss, and Anasuya, a crime thriller, and in the Bhojpuri film, Gangotri, a sequel to the successful 2006 Bhojpuri film Ganga, acting again alongside Amitabh Bachchan.

In 2008, she made her debut in the Punjabi film industry, starring in Yaariyan, opposite Gurdas Maan, following which she debupoemted in Malayalam as well, starring in Bhramaram alongside Mohanlal. Currently, she is working on half-a-dozen films in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi, which include Thangar Bachan's Kalavadiya Pozhudugal opposite Prabhu Deva in Tamil, Yagam alongside Navdeep and Sathyaraj in Telugu and Classmates, a remake of the same-named Malayalam film,in Hindi.Bhumika Chawla has written more than 100 poems in English and she is planning to release a poem book soon.

Personal life
Bhumika Chawla married her long-time boyfriend and noted Yoga expert and teacher Bharat Thakur on 21 October 2007 at Devlali, Nashik in a Gurdwara. She went regularly to Thakur's courses and is said to have dated him for four years, before eventually marrying him.
